of Singapore); Diplome de Hautes Etudes Internationales
(University of Geneva); Advocate and Solicitor, Supreme Court of
Singapore. She is a member of the Faculty of Law, National University
of Singapore; Director of the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental
Law (APCEL); IUCN-CEL Vice Chair for South and East Asia and a member
of its Steering Committee. She was recently appointed member of
a Panel Experts in Environmental Law, Permanent Court of Arbitration,
Peace Palace, and The Hague.
She was co-chair of the Course Planning Committee of the IUCN/APCEL/UNEP
training course for environmental law professors on Capacity
Building for Environmental Legal Education in the Asia-Pacific Region:
Teaching Environmental Law at University Level, held in 1997 and
1998 (Singapore), and was also a resource person for the course.
She was co-director and a resource person in a number of urban and
industrial environmental management seminars sponsored by the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs (Singapore) and the World Bank Institute (WTI),
and organized by APCEL and WTI. She is one of the three editors
of, Capacity Building for Environmental Law in the Asia-Pacific
Region: Resources and Approaches (ADB, 2nd edn, 2003).
She was one-time legal officer in UNCITRAL Secretariat (United Nations
Commissions on International Trade Law), in Vienna.
